| I posted this topic on KaibaCorp, but figured that it would be an interesting discussion to share within the clan as well: As the question says: is there a strategic advantage left in milling your I opponent's cards?
The way I see it, milling for your opponent might has been a good thing in old-school yugioh gameplay. However, in the new meta game where the graveyard has become sort of an extra deck, milling actually helps the opponent.
Think about it: Sabers, awesome in grave (except for faultroll if you don't have ways to get him back), Lightsworns (enough said), Internities (better in grave than in your actual deck), Dragons (dragon mirror ftw), e-heroes (miracle fusion), Frognarch (treeborn and fishborg blaster in grave = gold), etc, etc.
One of the reasons I'm throwing in this topic is the now commonly playable Iron Chain Dragon. Yes, he's the best lv 6 monster Debris dragon is capable of summoning, but to me, his causing damage comes at the cost of letting your opponent mill.
Goblin zombie is another common card that would cause damage every once in a while, at the cost of millin.
It's very well said in Glow Up Bulb ruling that milling a card is part of the effect, not the cost.
A card like Robbin' Goblin: would you ever want to use it in your deck? I mean, put a card in your deck that continuously works for your opponent?
Tell me what you think... | |

| I agree copletely..... there is no reason to mill your opponent anymore. There's a chance tht it could even make you lose yhe game by sending something you don't want to but then again you could get lucky and get rid of good cards but still it's a gamble. | |

| You're right about one thing, Chemist, but some decks are built to mill the meta way. One of those deck would happen to be the notorious Macro deck which a lot of duelists happen to forget listing in the ban list, while another being a deck which disallows the use of a Graveyard and yet it mills, such as Mill Gravekeepers if anybody has successfully made one, or perhaps decks which run an army of Grave-hostile cards such as Kycoo The Magical Destroyer.
